“It’s Nice to Get Out of That Chair.”

After a freak car accident nearly left my client paralyzed, the pool at his condominium gave him a way to get out of his wheelchair, challenge himself physically, and be outdoors again.

His Story

More of His World Back

He lived just off Lincoln Road, surrounded by a neighborhood full of activity he could no longer take part in as freely. Returning to regular activity required the right environment—one that could reduce the demands on his body without removing the challenge.

“It’s nice to get out of that chair.”

We trained twice a week in the large pool at his residence. Buoyancy reduced the load as we developed leg strength, motor control, balance, and coordination. Each session was deliberate and purposeful, helping him feel safer and more confident in what his body could do.

The sessions offered more than exercise. They brought him into the fresh air and sunshine. Once in the water, he could move in ways that were not possible for him on land.

The progress mattered. But simply leaving the chair and entering the water was its own reward—something he genuinely looked forward to.

Every AquaFit Sports session is shaped around the client, the pool, the season of life, and the goal. For recovery, mobility, performance, or fitness, the water becomes a more adaptable place to move.
